About Tom Inman
Tom Inman grew up in Arizona and Florida. His mother, a teacher, taught him to read early. He read the classics as a child. His favorite authors were Kipling, Melville, Stevenson, and Twain. After his family moved to Florida when he was ten years old, he discovered Chrichton, Lovecraft, Asimov, and Stephen King.
He served in the Marine Corps as an intelligence specialist assigned to the Airwing and Force Reconnaissance.
After college, he became an agent with the US Border Patrol.
After three years in the Border Patrol, he became a special agent of the US Customs Service stationed in Del Rio, Eagle Pass, and Houston, Texas.
When Customs merged with the Immigration Service to form the Department of Homeland Security, he retained a special agent of the DHS.
He spent most of his career investigating drug smuggling, money laundering, weapons smuggling, and technology transfer violations.
He was also a firearms and tactics instructor.
He retired from the DHS in 2016. In retirement, he worked as a private investigator. It was during this time that he wrote his first novel.
He lives with his wife, Yolanda, in Texas. They love to travel and collect antiques. He also enjoys burning meat Texas-style.
